Buy Cheap Ink Is It Worth It

Have you ever wondered why companies sell their shiny, space age looking printers so reasonably? I’ll tell you why. The real money is in the selling of their brand name ink cartridges.

Do you know that these companies pull sort of a fast one on you? Yup…those “at no cost cartridges” that come with your new printer are only partly filled. They give you a try of what its like to use the new printer and then suddenly you run out of ink.

So what’s your initial inclination? It’s to go get the identical name brand ink cartridge. Still, one look at the price and you are ready to buy a cheap ink cartridge ASAP!

So are cheap ink cartridges worth it? A major line of reasoning used against purchasing cheap ink is that over time it will ruin your printer. You know what my response to that is? Don’t lose any sleep over it.

I’ve been using generic ink cartridges in my printer for eons without it being injurious tomy printer. But even if it had, I would just turn right around and buy another printer. They are certainly cheap enough if you buy them new but here’s what I do, I buy printers at garage sales. I see HP printers and Dell printers all over the place. I’ve never paid more than $4.00 for one.

When I ask the seller why they are getting rid of the printer they usually say, “Oh I just bought a new computer and I got a free printer with it. There’s nothing wrong with this one, I just want to get rid of it.”

So in my estimation you’ll want to buy cheap ink cartridges until the cows come home.

Are they worth it? You better believe it. I pay around $11.00 for a generic black and white ink cartridge. A name brand would cost me at least $8 to $10 more.

You know what? For merchandise I have to purchase on an on going basis, I’m going to look for value.

In my opinion buying cheap ink for your ink jet printer is a no brainer.

How To Screen Print: White Ink On Black Shirts By Ryonet

Why doesn’t my printer use the black ink cartridge to print black and white photos?

Are all printers this way? All I print is B&W photos, and it’s using up the color ink cartridge instead of the black one… Its a Kodak ESP-3 (I know it sucks, but its what I gotta work with).
Any tips on how to get around this???

I think my printer just sucks, lol.
Everything is set to B&W/grayscale through the computer print options and the printer print/scan options…
What if I just take the color cartridge out??
