What B & W film is the best for portraits?
So, I just bought a Minolta X-370 with 75-200mm and a flash drive contents. Without any previous experience with cameras, I wondered what kind of film that would be better if I thought making portraits in black and white type. Thank you!
Any person who gives the overall effect you want. low ISO films are the best to work fine grained where you want to capture the details higher if you want to start adding grain to the work. The best way to know what is best for you to get two or three different types and experimentation. It was drawn b & w film for a while, but used Ilford FP4 study and work in the portrait and Kodak Tri-X or Ilford XP2 accelerate work (using XP2 process by which C41 can be handled in laboratories of high c / facility), but played with other things for pleasure.
