What is the best computer program for drawing? (like illustrator or painter)?
I’d like to add a little color in my black and white drawings, but I have no idea how to use programs like illustrator. What program would you suggest?
Also, what books would help me learn how to use that program? Thank you.
For graphics, use Adobe Illustrator. For more painterly stuff (if you want it to look like traditional media like watercolors, oils, etc), use Corel Painter. Otherwise, just use Adobe Photoshop. I suggest using Photoshop CS2. However, there are other drawing programs that aren’t so pricey as Adobe and Corel products. Unfortunately, I don’t know those other programs except openCanvas which cost me about..20 USD? You can probably find some free drawing programs though that fit your needs. As for learning how to use that program, just look up tutorials in deviantart.com there are plenty that show how they color their own things, which will teach you a few tricks to helping you color your own stuff.
