BFA in fine arts or no degree…still own a gallery?
If someone doesn’t have a BFA or any formal art training, does that make them unable to own or work in an Art Gallery?
Of course you can own an art gallery or work in one. Having a degree won’t guarantee your success in either.
An art gallery is a business. The people who are best at this line of work are probably people with good business and marketing skills who are good at identifying artists who will bring in saleable work.
The people who are best at working in an art gallery are probably personalities that have subtle, solid sales skills and can identify and respond to potential clients.
